School Learning Team Toolbox

Audience:

Recognizing that each jurisdiction has its own procedures, it is anticipated that this toolbox may be useful for school or jurisdiction learning teams who make decisions collaboratively (within the learning team and/or with additional service providers) about rehabilitation or other services for students.

Background:

Most elementary schools within the CA RCSD partnership had an assigned SLP and OT (employed by AHS and funded both by AHS and CA RCSD) who had regular time scheduled within the school.  These service providers along with the school personnel (a teacher or administrator whose role was to facilitate learning support as well as potentially others on the learning team) collaboratively identified student needs, designed the service model and prioritized service.  This team met regularly throughout the school year and was called a “School Core Team”.
